Bolton School Bursary Golf Day

Once again Ravat & Ray Dental Care are extremely proud to have been given the opportunity to sponsor the Bolton School Bursary Golf Day which was held on Thursday 22nd September at the Bolton Golf Club.

The Ravat & Ray team along with the other teams enjoyed a sun filled day of golf, lunch and networking followed with a scrumptious carvery dinner in the evening.

Although the Ravat & Ray team didn’t win any prizes for the day they tried their best and had an excellent experience on the day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank, Thomas Threlfall, Colin Grey, Brendan Halliwell and Alan Derbyshire who represented Ravat & Ray Dental Care at the event.

The Bursary Fund is a worthy and deserving cause which is close to the hearts of many Old Bolton Boys and Old Bolton Girls.  One in Five Senior School pupils now receives Bursarial support for their education, with £2.3m being spent by the School on bursaries in 2014/15.  Furthermore, the new Riley Sixth Form Centre is now well established at the School, and offers fantastic facilities to its Sixth Formers, many of whom are only able to attend Bolton School because of the Bursary support they have received.

Despite a lower attendence, this year’s Golf day was a great success for all those involved and they raised over £2400 in aid of the schools bursary fund, which was enough to fund quarter of a bursary for one pupil for one year.

Bolton School says; the message is clear – if they can provide the funding, the School can provide a first rate education, in first-class facilities for those who otherwise may not be able to afford it.  Whilst their target for the Golf Day may be small in terms of the overall sum distributed, every penny counts and will be put to good use within the school.
