Hi my name is Louise Threlfall and I have worked for Ravat & Ray Dental Care since November 2009. I started my employment with them as a dental nurse and I have never looked back since. Ravat & Ray have given me numerous opportunities to grow and therefore saw me progress from dental nurse to senior nurse to EDS manager to Practice Manager and now finally as Business Development Manager based at Head Office.

I love working for Ravat & Ray Dental Care and have never known a dental organisation that allows nurses to progress so far within their career.
As a dental nurse I always tried my best and therefore after showing my dedication and determination to make a difference, I was promoted to Senior Nurse at the Ormskirk practice in September 2010. I was later promoted as the Emergency Dental Services manager for both the Ormskirk and Chorley practices in April 2011; here I managed a 7 days a week emergency service along with around 30 staff members. I really enjoyed this time as I grew to know a great number of dentists, dental nurses and receptionists as well as developing my people management skills.

Having been given the opportunity to complete a Diploma Level 3 in Business Management with Ravat & Ray, my skills became stronger in both practice management and staff management.

Not long after I completed this course I was offered a fantastic opportunity to work as Practice Manager at the Chorley practice. I did not hesitate and took the chance to develop my expertise even further and started back with my original Chorley team in September 2012. During this year’s Annual Dinner I was awarded Practice Manager of the Year, winning a trophy and a £500 bonus. Having won such an award made me feel even more grateful to work for such a great company and felt as though I could go even further within my next year’s employment.

Then due to staff changes within the organisation a position became available as Marketing Manager within head office. Having shown my skills, drive and dedication to the organisation I was offered a position as a Business Development Manager as well as the Marketing & Communications Manager. Again I did not hesitate and therefore decided the time was right for me to take on the challenge. During my time at head office I have been given the chance to support other practice managers as well as develop a number of marketing materials for the group.

I have worked for the organisation for a number of years now and I feel I have been able to develop both my skills and knowledge gravely, which I could not have done elsewhere. I am very thankful to be working for Ravat & Ray Dental Care and hope to continue my employment for many more years to come.
