Mark Ray, partner of Ravat and Ray Dental Care will be conducting a huge charity cycle ride on September 20th. He will be joined by many of the dental nurses and receptionists on some of the legs. He will be riding around all of the Ravat and Ray Dental Practices in Greater Manchester,Lancashire and Yorkshire – a distance of 210km – longer than a Tour de France stage!
In total there are 9 practices, and Ravat and Ray will be presenting cheques for £500 to local charities and good causes at each of them on the day.
The ride finishes at 7.00pm at the new head office; Rumworth House in Bolton, which has been equipped as a brand new, state of the art practice, with conference and staff training facilities. Kevin Davies, the Bolton and England football star will join Ali Al Habsi – the Wigan goalkeeper to open the practice, who will join some other local celebrities in a celebration for Kevin’s charity – Kids of Bolton.
Mark is raising money on his Just Giving Page for Bridge-2-aid for the ride. The charities founder, Ian Wilson, who has recently joined Ravat and Ray at their Bradford practice, will be there to receive the Just Giving donations which will hopefully top £5000! Bridge-2-aid is a dental charity which provides essential dental care for populations in East Africa, where sometimes there are no dentists for 200,000 people. People walk for days to receive simple dental care, which we often take for granted. More importantly they provide training for local dental officers, thereby leaving a legacy of care for the communities when they return home.
