Ravat & Ray Dental Care become heroes for BBC Children in Need
Fundraising efforts, Ravat & Ray Dental Care raise £ 314.27 to support BBC’s Children In Need
Ravat & Ray Dental Care practices, this year have held a number of events to help raise money for BBC’s Children in Need and many became heroes to support the 2014 appeal. This Year the teams went all out by baking cakes to sell, dressing up as heroes, holding raffles as well as holding children’s colouring competitions all in aid to help raise funds for this very worthy charity.
Our practices have been successful in raising a massive £314.27 for this year’s Children In Need. Our Ormskirk team dressed as heroes and held a raffle to win a Pudsy Bear cuddly toy. In total the practice raised a massive £122.17, with a little help from the daughter of one of our Dental Nurse’s, Bethan Duke.
The Bolton One team held a bake sale and also dress as super heroes for the day, while at Bradford the team held a raffle, colouring competition and dressed as super men hereos. They were also visited by local radio station, BBC Radio Leeds, whom interviewed staff regarding the day’s events. Many of our practices held colouring competitions for the children, held raffles as well as had a collection for any money patients or visitors wished to donate towards this amazing cause.
Managing Director, Martin Weavers said; “We’re overwhelmed with the response we have had to our efforts in practice and would like to say a huge thank you to all those who supported us! It’s great fun supporting BBC’s Children in Need and to know that we’ve raised £314.25 to help this is a fantastic feeling. It’s good to know we have helped ensure that children across the UK are having a safe and happy upbringing, wherever possible.”
BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, with the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraising heroes and supporters across the UK, who donates their time and money to support the appeal in November each year. Whether through cake sales, dance offs or treasure hunts, every penny of the money raised goes towards supporting projects across the UK.
Every single penny raised by BBC Children in Need goes directly to UK projects working with children and young people who may be affected by neglect, abuse or poverty, or to those who have faced challenges in their lives such as a serious illness, severe disabilities as well as psychological disorders.
