Charity Bike Ride 2015

Hot off the wheels of the Tour de France, (watching!) mad keen cyclist Mark Ray, Partner of Ravat & Ray Dental Care, has announced his latest cycling challenge set for
Sunday 13th September 2015.

Mark aims to cycle 225.3 km which is exactly 140 miles along the length of the A49 in a single day, in order to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK.

Muscular dystrophy is a group of genetic conditions that cause muscles to weaken and waste over time, leading to increasing disability. Some affect the heart and vital breathing muscles, cutting short lives. Muscular Dystrophy UK funds ground breaking research into treatments and supports the 70,000 families living with muscle-wasting conditions.

The cause is very close to Mark’s heart, as on Boxing Day 2014 his Uncle Tony lost the fight against this terrible condition, which has led Mark to choose the charity for this year’s fund raising events.

Mark will set off from Ross-On-Wye at around 7am on 13th September, the start of the A49 and will cycle the length of the road finishing in Bamber Bridge some 11 hours
later where he will be greeted by a crowd of supporters at the finish line. The route will also take Mark through Tony’s home town of Shrewsbury, which is where the Ray side of Mark’s family live.

This is a tough challenge, even by Mark’s standards, but he is determined to complete this outstanding challenge for such a worthwhile cause. Please help Mark on this incredible journey with messages of support and sponsors by clicking here… ( Alternatively you can donate via text, it’s simple, just text MRMD50 plus the amount you would like to donate to 70070.

Good luck to Mark from all the staff at Ravat & Ray Dental Care.
